Graduates of the bachelor’s degree programme acquire the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to address the many and varied tasks not only in mechanical engineering but also to hold technical posts in industry, institutions, schools, business and services. Graduates are trained to complete tasks regarding design, construction and technology.Students may elect to take more than one of the courses if they choose, in which case the 2nd course would count towards the "focus course work" requirement (see below). The remaining courses should be selected by students in consultation with their advisor(s).You cannot receive an Incomplete on a thesis or project.Your Research Advisor is the sole judge of when your research is complete. The programme is finished by a State Bachelor’s Examination which includes defence of bachelor’s thesis. They will complete technical and electrical measurements and design exercises. The academic title “bachelor” (Bc.) is awarded upon graduation by passing the State Final Examination and defence of the Bachelor’s thesis. Graduates will find suitable jobs in various sites of production and technical sections or research in design, operation and adaptation of control systems, information systems and systems with elements of advanced instrumentation. Note that experimental theses may take longer than theses which involve mathematical analysis or the development of computer software. The BS/MS Program typically takes five years to complete; however, some students have accomplished this in four years, while others have taken as long as six years to complete this Program. These courses need not be taken in mechanical engineering. With advisor approval, students may take their focus coursework at the graduate level in other engineering departments, in computer science, in the physical sciences, or in mathematics.
