My Cultural Identity Essay

A person’s identity is defined by what shaped it in the first place, why they chose to be who they are, and what makes them different from everybody else in the world.I feel that I have developed most of my identity from my own dreams, fantasies, friends, and idols.

This family event unifies Africans, African-American, and non-African people and is celebrated with drummers, dancers, faith communities, local talent, special guests, and vendors that sell clothing, jewelry, food, books, art, music, furniture, purses, and much more.A person’s identity is shaped by many different aspects.Family, culture, friends, personal interests and surrounding environments are all factors that tend to help shape a person’s identity.I would sum it [Juneteenth Festival] up as a huge family reunion in the park.Realizing we have more in common than not, when I meet new people, I look at them as individuals.They accomplish, or strive to accomplish, goals that they have set for themselves throughout their lifetime.Individuals are different from any other individual in the world because they live their own life rather than following a crowd of puppets.This will be done by looking at my turning point and at times a symbolic movement which was the migration from Uganda a former colony of Britain, and how this has affected my experience of learning and continues to alter my cultural identity.To put this in context, Hodkinson et al (2013, p39) acknowledges that, ‘At a turning-point a person their descriptions.For example, “it is possible to acquire a new culture by becoming disabled, moving to a new country or region, or by...while reflecting on how my own experiences of learning have been shaped and changed my sense of identity.
